London Fashion Week will be streamed live online

As I start preparing for London Fashion Week, organising invites and tickets etc, comes the news that I don't actually have to leave my bed. In fact, I would probably get a better view of the whole thing at home in my pajamas!

The British Fashion Council announced yesterday that the first Digital Schedule will launch on 19th February at London Fashion Week.

www.londonfashionweek.co.uk/digitalschedule is the URL for this new element of London Fashion Week, where a global audience will be able to view fashion shows live from the BFC show venue at Somerset House, as well as those of select designers who will live-stream their shows from other venues in London. The fashion films on the Digital Schedule will be presented by the designer, many in a newly dedicated Digital Space at Somerset House, whilst some will be premiered online.

Designers showing fashion films will include: Antoni & Alison, Boudicca, Cassette Playa, Craig Lawrence, Danielle Scutt, Hussein Chalayan, JW Anderson, LP.BG and Twenty8Twelve.

I think it's an incredible development, bringing fashion to everyone who's interested in it, rather than the few who are invited. I think it also shows (as if we didn't already know!) the power of blogs, and the internet, and the importance of the instant-ness of information that this brings. Who wants to wait more than a month for the magazines to showcase the looks when you can see them now, and look at the editorials later?

London fashion is exciting, and I think that it's amazing that the British Fashion Council are taking this step so that our talent can be showcased globally.

Now instead of worrying about which are my best-looking comfortable shoes, I just have to decide between the penguin or the sheep pajamas!

Love, Tor x
