Shoes: Kiss me, Baby!

Hi guys,
When I got my last pair of Vivienne Westwood Melissa's it was love at first sight: they look great, they feel great, and believe it or not, they even smell great! Admittedly, the fact that they are a fairly vibrant green colour means that I don't wear them as often as I would like, but I would still rank them as amongst my favourite shoes. Now though, the high class take on the jelly shoes have had another revamp. And if possible, I like this design even better:
photo melissas_zps2db09319.pngSlightly sheer and with a vibrant red lip motif on the front, frankly, what's not to like? These shoes are seriously sexy! The colours aren't too bright that they wouldn't go with just about everything though (unlike my other, fairly difficult to match pair!) I do love a good lip print, so even the lining of these shoes are appealing to me. They're glamorous, they're shiny, the heel is low enough that you can walk in it all day. And if you don't like the black sheer variety they also come in a high gloss baby pink too. Have I sold these to you yet?!

If you want a pair of your own you can pick them up for £183.99. You'll find them here. Wouldn't they be perfect for over the festive period? They'd certainly be a conversation piece at a Christmas party!

What do you think? Do you like these Melissa's with their smooch appeal? Or has another design already stolen your heart - and if so, which one? I'd love to know!

Shoes: My Bank Holiday Pick!

Hi guys,
It's nearly the bank holiday! And for most of us that means fun days out, long walks and (if the weather is on our side) a sunny BBQ or two! Mike, Wilbur and I are visiting my parents for the weekend so we will be enjoying a mix of walks to the park and long afternoons building sandcastles on the beach. So what will I have on my feet? Well for me it has to be practical, stylish, gorgeous Converse!
photo goldconverse_zps6cb73762.png My Converse are peach, but I am seriously lusting after these incredible gold ones! They're all leather and have a gold and white tie dye pattern all over them. Even the eyelets are gold: and you know how I feel about anything gold! Love it! Converse teamed with skirts or dresses isn't the look for me: I tried it in my teens, but now I think it's too grungy and too scruffy. It's a classic and preppy combination but I prefer Converse hi tops teamed with skinny jeans and simple shirts or blouses: there's no better casual outfit when you don't want to think about what you're going to throw on and you're having an active and informal day out. With these on my feet though, I'd still be able to show off my fashion credentials!

Want a pair of your own? Well they're a little more expensive than normal Converse but you can have a pair of these for £79.99. You'll find them here.

We just booked a holiday for the three of us to Paris/Disneyland Paris in six weeks time: I will definitely be getting these to wear for the occasion! What do you think?!

Shoes: Can I think about Autumn yet?

Hi guys,
I know it's the middle of the summer. I know that I'm currently wriggling my (neatly painted) toes in a selection of pretty sandals. But I can't help it: I've already started thinking about my new autumn boots! I love autumn and I love wearing ankle boots. When it comes to shoes they really are my kryptonite!
photo ankleboots_zpsb957727b.png My current ankle boot obsession are these fringed boots by Fornarina: don't they look just like something Pocahontas would wear? They aren't to my usual taste at all: I would normally wear black leather boots with hardwear detailing, whereas these are light, suede, and they have a rubber wedge (something that would normally make me baulk). But I love the fringing details, I think the embroidery around the ankle is such a great touch, and that they would look amazing teamed with skinny jeans.

My whole attitude to jeans has changes over the past twelve months and whereas I was once completely committed to daily dresses, now I don't know where I'd be without jeans in my wardrobe. With that though has come a change in my attitude to shoes: with dresses I tended to wear a streamlined black tights and black boots combo. With jeans I think you can be a little more creative without it impacting the overall look and feel of your outfit: or maybe I've got too much time on my hands to think about these things!

Whichever way you look at it, I want these Pocahontas boots. If you want them too then they can be yours for £122.99. Tell me, how would you style them? Do you think they're the perfect boots to wear with jeans, or would you team them with a dress instead?

Shoes: Slightly in love with Terry de Haviland

Hi guys,
I have massively exciting family news this week, which has left me with a huge smile on my face. My little sister Amie is getting married, and I am going to be the (incredibly old sounding) Matron of Honour for the occasion. That means whenever I have been doing any online shopping, I have been deviating towards anything vaguely bridal: think dainty metallic shoes and accessories, floaty lace dresses, and I had a very enjoyable hour looking at the Dreamboys website too (For hen 'do research purposes, of course!)
photo TdHshoes1_zps45b04426.png When I was busy shopping for shoes for another wedding I have to do to next month, probably because I was still thinking about Amie, these incredible gold Terry de Haviland shoes just jumped out at me. Wouldn't these make amazing bridal shoes for a modern, fashion-forward bride?! I've never been much of a fan of delicate and dainty shoes, so these are perfect for me from that point of view. They would look amazing with a dress that showed a little ankle, or even peeping out from under a floor length sheath dress.

I am thinking of getting these for the wedding I am going to (as a guest) in September: they have been reduced in the sale from £353.99 to £212.39 so from a price point of view they're a damn bargain! And the beauty of a statement shoe like this is that you can wear such a simple outfit with them and still look good for any occasion. I love wearing simple black dresses for almost everything, which means I can get away with wearing almost any shoe I like: the more ornate the better, in my opinion!

What do you think? Would you wear a pair of shoes like this for your wedding?

Shoes: Is it Spring yet?

Hi guys,
Last week in my post about why we should all be wearing neon, I mentioned that I had ordered a pair of neon sandals from Sarenza to bring a little neon into my summer wardrobe. Well, they've finally arrived, and I like them so much that I can't wait for Spring to arrive so that I can get my toes out and put these babies on! photo neonsandal2_zps2f09073f.jpg These are from a brand I'd actually never heard of before called Sole Society. They have a great selection of summer sandals, particularly neon ones so look out for them if you want to shop the trend. They're called the Sammy sandal, and would set you back just £63. photo neonsandal1_zps5f1d5d0e.jpg I know they're bright (like, you have to wear sunglasses to look at them bright) but I really like them. And whilst I definitely wouldn't recommend putting them on with a neon pink dress and neon green jewellery (because this isn't the Eighties!) with jeans and a crisp white shirt they would look on trend but still sophisticated and age-appropriate.

I think if you want to dip your toe into the water of any new trend but are feeling unsure about it, trying it on your feet is the best way to go! Your feet won't make you look fat no matter what you put them in and neon shoes won't draw the attention on the street that a neon frock would! So if you're colour shy (like me) or set in your ways and don't want to verve too far from styles and shades you know suit you, get adventurous with your shoes instead!

When I slipped then on to take these photos they were so comfy, and it was so nice to feel the air around my feet, that I didn't want to take them off! I suspect that you'll be seeing these in a lot of outfit posts this summer!

Have you bought any Spring/Summer clothes yet? I've already started planning some Spring outfits and had all my favourite blazers dry cleaned: I can't wait!

Could you be the next Sarenza Ambassador?

Photobucket
A selection of some of my amazing Sarenza shoes

Hi guys,
As you guys know, I am a Sarenza brand ambassador, and I love it! What's not to love about reviewing shoes, buying new shoes, and taking photos of lovely shoes?! It's thanks to Sarenza that I've discovered great new brands (like Valensi, who make the most comfortable pumps I've ever worn) as well as experiment with old faithfuls, like Jeffrey Campbell.

And now I have great news, because Sarenza are recruiting for a new blogger brand ambassador! (This post is just for any readers that are also bloggers, I'm afraid)

As a Sarenza Ambassador you’ll receive a £150 voucher to spend on shoes EVERY MONTH which you will then review on your blog, as well as the chance to win an extra £50 voucher each month for the ‘Ambassador post of the month’. On top of that, you’ll also receive invitations to events in Paris and London, exclusive news and sales previews! Not bad, right?

If you'd like to be a Sarenza brand ambassador, all you have to do is write a short article on your favourite shoes from Sarenza on your blog. Then send a tweet to @SarenzaUK with a link to your article (so they know you've taken part!) and the hashtag #SarenzaAmbassador.

The deadline for entries is 27th January 2012. Five finalists will then be chosen by the Sarenza team, and compete in a battle to the death (or not!) on twitter, and the blogger with the most votes will win. Simple!!

Let me know if you enter: it would be amazing if one of my lovely readers made it to the final five!

Shoe Lust: Sarenza's A/W Collection Preview

Hi guys,
It seems like I'm destined to spend my days in accessories heaven: and who am I to complain?! First I lusted over the M&S accessories range, and now I've had the chance to view some of the newest arrivals in Sarenza's A/W collection, and I'm already mentally preparing a whole new wardrobe based on them!

In the months I have been a Sarenza brand ambassador, I have genuinely fallen in love with the website, and the massive variety of brands they represent. And I think my obsession is only going to increase, if this new collection is anything to go on:
Photobucket
These leopard print and red patent leather shoes from Georgia Rose (£157) look, if possible, even better in the flesh than they do in this photograph. The leather of the leopard print panels was so soft, and these would be perfect teamed with cigarette trousers for a quirky take on this season's androgynous trend.
Photobucket
Sparkle is my newest obsession, and I know I won't get anywhere near the holiday season without investing in some! My favourites are the front pair with the patent toe, also from Georgia Rose (£127), but I also have a slight obsession with the Jeffrey Campbell Lita boots.
Photobucket
Speaking of Jeffrey Campbell, both of these shoes are from the brand, although the leopard print ones don't land on the site for another couple of months. I actually just ordered the wedges (they should arrive tomorrow!) but in the dalmatian print with the black heel. They look gorgeous, and I can't wait to team them with leggings and flippy little frocks.
Photobucket
Finally, not many people know that as well as selling shoes, Sarenza also has a massive collection of handbags. I love my Friis & Co satchel from the site, which I have been using exclusively since it arrives. But I could be tempted to upgrade it for this patent Lollipops version: the colours are lovely!

I think my bank balance could be in jeopardy this month! There are so many shoes and boots that I want, that it's going to take serious willpower to resist buying them all!

Red hot reader discount from Sarenza.co.uk!

Photobucket
Hi guys,
Just a quick post from me to tell you about an amazing offer the lovely folks over at Sarenza have given me for you guys: a massive 30% discount!! You know how I love the shoes from Sarenza, so I think this is a great opportunity for a little (almost) guilt-free shoe shopping!

All you have to do is head over to the Sarenza website, and once you've chosen the shoes of your dreams, enter the discount code FABFROCKS30 when you check out on Sarenza.co.uk, and you'll get 30% off on everything with no minimum spend, which I think is a pretty hot offer!

If you want to use the offer though you'll have to be quick as it's only available this weekend: from tomorrow 7am until midnight on Sunday. And of course, the code can be used once by each reader!

I am really rating the sandals I got from Sarenza last month: and the Moheda clogs have barely left my feet since I got them (in fact, I'm wearing them again today!) so if you're looking for a recommendation from me on how to best use your 30% discount, they would definitely be it

Are Sarenza good to us or what!?

My hot summer trends from Sarenza!

Hi guys,
I love my new role as a Sarenza brand ambassador! Who wouldn't love a job where they got to pick out new shoes every month!? And the more I experiment with the Sarenza website, the more I like it: you can sort the shoes by type, price, material, heel height, and even season. That makes it really easy to quickly and efficiently find exactly what you're looking for, instead of spending hours scrolling through pictures of shoes that aren't quite right. Have a max dress that needs a 5.5 inch heel in leather for less than £50? No worries! The Sarenza search function can find exactly what your looking for.

Anyway, enough of my geeking out about website functionality and back to shoes! This month instead of choosing one pair of shoes I decided to choose two, so that I could experiment with two of the hottest trends of the summer (I couldn't choose between them):

Colour block
Photobucket
Photobucket
I know, I know, everyone is talking about colour blocking! But this is colour blocking at a micro level: i've colour blocked my feet! I love these pink and purple Georgia Rose sandals, and to take the trend even further, I adding clashing red coloured toe nails too: my feet are crazy! I want to team this with a vibrant Tshirt dress for a look that is perfectly on trend, but also casual and cool.

Seventies nude
Photobucket
Photobucket
The seventies trend is the one i'm wearing most this summer. It's laid back and casual and easy to wear: all the things I like! I really love the look of swedish hasbeens, but having tried a pair on, I found them hellishly uncomfortable! These, however, I love! They're also from a Swedish brand (called Moheda) but they have a soft squishy insole that means walking on them feels like a dream! I can see these quickly becoming my wear every day shoes: they look great with jeans, sundresses and anything else I feel like wearing!

What do you think? Which pair do you prefer? Luckily I don't have to choose, because if I did I think i'd find it impossible!

See shoes, Love shoes, Have shoes!

Hi guys,
I love shoes. It's a minor addiction of mine: I have more pairs than is normal for even the most fashion-obsessed woman, and I keep buying more! So you can imagine how excited I was when Sarenza got in touch and asked if i'd like to be one of their brand ambassadors and (drumroll please) review a pair of their shoes!
Photobucket
I already know the Sarenza brand, as I ran in their high heel race last December: such fun! Sarenza is an online shoe shop which sells shoes from more than 300 brands, including Carvela, Chloe, Irregular Choice, and great French and Euro brands too! There are currently more than 10,000 pairs of women's shoes on the site: it's a number so big it makes my head hurt!

And the best thing about Sarenza? No matter how much you spend (whether £500 on 5 pairs of shoes or £15 on one sales bargain) delivery is always free! I always resent how much extra delivery charge is added to your order when you buy online, so this is a definite bonus!
Photobucket
Photobucket
The shoes I chose were these amazing Carvela wedges. They look even better in the flesh than they do in the pictures: all warm tan wood, purple suede, and flecks on woven gold. I couldn't love them more if I tried. Walking in them is going to take a little getting used to, but I'm hardened in the ways of heels: I don't mind taking the pain to break them in!

It's my birthday next week, so I will definitely be wearing these beautiful creations out to dinner: i'm guarenteed to have the most gorgeous shoes in the room! I have a feeling i'm going to really love being a Sarenza brand ambassador!

Love, Tor
