More Summery Loveliness From Primark

Hi guys,
If you want to see some images that will immediately have you craving some summer sun then these newest press shots from Primark definitely won't disappoint. I can only buy cup sized swimwear (which pretty much limits me to shopping in Bravissimo) and this is something I curse every summer. But it is a new experience to be cursing my body because I'm craving after swimwear from Primark! There is some serious swimsuit hottness going on, and at prices so affordable that you could have a different one for every day of your holiday!

I love the Prada-style pineapple print bikini with the high waisted bottoms: It's almost worth buying those bottoms to pair with a plainer top! I also love the casual styling of the short sleeved boyfriend-style shirt with the bikini bottoms. Maybe it's because I'm going on holiday in a fortnight and maybe it's because the sun has started shining, but I can't remember the last time I had such positive feelings about swimwear!

Having a love affair with House of Fraser

Hi guys,
When I was living in Central London, Selfridges was my department store of choice. It was perilously close to my office, and I used to pop in on at least a twice weekly basis: our flat was littered with those trademark yellow carrier bags!

Since we've moved to Norwich (where sadly, there is no Selfridges) House of Fraser has become my new tempting poison. Whenever I pop into the city center I park in the House of Fraser car park, meaning there's always an excuse for a walk through the many departments which, in the past couple of weeks, have become a riot of colour. And I am really impressed! Therapy by House of Fraser in particular always has something that I covet, and the Linea Weekend range is fast becoming my go-to for yummy mummy everyday wear. Then I saw the latest House of Fraser press shots. And I have fallen in love all over again:

I really haven't ever seen the appeal of dungarees until I saw this image: but teamed with the elegant heels, pop of yellow and the clutch I think they have a grown up appeal that I'd really like to try. They'd be fabulous for wearing during summer day trips: so stylish but practical at the same time! The image that really makes me lust though is the floral combination of the sweater and the prom dress. I need to have that sweater, and I want the scarf to tie in my hair too! House of Fraser have brought their 'A' game for this Spring: I might have to take to parking somewhere else, or I'll be in danger of bankrupting myself!

Object of Lust: French Connection mellow yellow jacket

Hi guys,
I've got a massive soft spot for French Connection, and statement jackets are my favourite things in the world to buy and wear, so it stands to reason that I would be lusting after this vibrant yellow collarless jacket from French Connection!

The colour just screams summer, but the shape and style will be perfect for wearing during the chillier days of spring. I love how it's been styled with the white shirt and leather skater skirt, but equally I think it would look great worn my way: with jeans, pumps, and a patterned blouse! It's the look that's pretty much my mummy uniform, but the colour will give it a fashionable edge: 

You can pick the jacket up here at £130. I popped into my local FC store to try this on this afternoon but it wasn't in stock, so I'm just going to have to risk it and order one: It will be the perfect transitional wardrobe piece and it's too lovely to miss out on! I really am a jacket addict!

Cuckoo for Kimono Jackets

Hi guys,
I've been spending a lot of time lately planning, researching and updating my spring/summer wardrobe. I didn't buy any new clothes last summer, and the summer before I was pregnant, so my summer wardrobe  is in dire need of an update. We are also going on holiday in the first week of May, making buying outfits perfect for sunnier climes even more important.

I've always loved kimonos, but it looks like this year the kimono has had an update: enter the kimono jacket! I love kimonos because they're so versatile: you can dress them up or down. Their naturally slouchy fit also makes them incredibly flattering and they're a great cover up on cool summer evenings or when you want to protect your shoulders from the summer sun. I already have that lace detail kimono (I bought it last October) and I'm planning on adding that floral one to my wardrobe asap. It will look awesome with stripey breton tees and denim in the early spring and slip vests and boyfriend shorts in the summer. I know it's not for everyone, but I even love the way kimono jackets look when they're worn open over loose fitting shift dresses: volume is one of my favourite summer looks!

I Heart Flatforms

Hi guys,
I used to say that if I wasn't wearing heels then I didn't feel like me. Well, motherhood has quickly put paid to that foolish notion! Now comfort is key. Luckily, fashion seems to be moving with me because this spring/summer the flatform is still going to be bang on trend: yes, flats are back!

No more do we have to teeter around in stilettos and wonder how our feet will stay in barely-there straps. Instead pared back flat platform shoes are the heels of the day: if even that seems like too much height for you then embellished flat pumps are going to be just as popular.

Looking forward to the next season and feeling inspired by all these comfy but gorgeous shoes, I just ordered two new pairs of flatforms to build my new spring/summer wardrobe around. The sensible part of my brain said I should choose a classic black pair, but the part of my brain that loves shoes opted for these more interesting beauties instead:

I choose the coral pair to wear with skinny jeans in the spring, and the basket sandals to wear with dresses and skirts in the summer. That is officially my on trend footwear for the season sorted! Lady-like for Spring from M&S

Hi guys,
Do you ever sometimes see an outfit that you like so much you immediately want to go out and buy every single piece? That's how I felt when I saw this grown up and lady like outfit from Marks and Spencer, which has got me all excited for the arrival of Spring.

It's much more grown up and chic than my usual everyday look (which consists mostly of jeans and blouses) but it would be just perfect for popping to meetings or even for when I take myself off for a days shopping. Let's face it, it isn't an outfit I would ever wear around the baby and his sticky fingers, which if anything only adds to its appeal!

I love the colour of that lightweight cocoon coat, and the oversized bag looks so buttery soft. I love oversized slouchy bags like this, which are perfect for just about any occasion as well as really practical. If I can only have just one piece though, I would make it that white pencil skirt with the sheer panels. Teamed with T shirts and chiffon vests in a wide variety of colours and a pair of boxy heeled sandals and I would wear this all summer long.

Primark SS14: The First Images are in!

Yes it's that time of the season once more: we're all freezing and bundled up in our coats, so it's time to start thinking about what we'll be wearing when Spring arrives. When it starts snowing i'll know it's time for me to buy my summer sandals! As we're in the process of booking our early-summer holiday (in May) I for one am particularly interested to see what spring/summer wear Primark have to offer. And their press images never fail to disappoint, even if they aren't always to my tastes.

There are a couple of looks in this initial that I suspect will look pretty cheap in the flesh, even if they photograph well. And when you can buy a whole outfit for under £20, what can you expect I suppose! But despite this, there are also a couple of outfits I definitely have my eye on:

I won't be running for the doors at opening time to get my hands on any of this particular range, but I do like the white dress with the white overlay: I think the fit would be really flattering!
