Clothing good enough to eat!

Hi guys,
I'll admit it: I quite often ignore press releases. I get sent so many (too many of them addressed 'Dear Blogger' rather than even knowing my name) that it would be impossible to read them all. But every so often one catches my eye: even less often, I like one so much that I share it with you guys almost verbatim. This is one of those days!

Eccentric European T shirt brand Mr Gugu and Miss Go (you've gotta love that name!) are putting statement back into simple separates. Launching now on Truffle Shuffle is a range of galaxy, psychedelic, and candy inspired printed jersey tees, jumpers and leggings. photo truffleshuffle_zps08bd5e7d.png Is this my usual style? Hell no! Is there a huge part of me that wants a jumper entirely covered in gummy bears? Hell yes! The greedy girl in me is irrationally excited by the thought of all of this clothing covered in food. I also love the crazy cat jumper, even though I know deep down that its' too hipster for words. I guess sometimes you have to just surrender to your inner hipster!!

Prices start from £24.99 and the collection is available at TruffleShuffle.com right now!

Thanks M&S! I'm already longing for winter...

Hi guys,
Apologies in advance for any mentions in this post of the dreaded 'C' word, but it really can't be helped! Today I went to the Marks and Spencer Christmas in July press show, and it's really got me thinking about winter: log fires, snow, and Christmas.

Despite the fact we haven't really had much of a summer yet, it's shows like this that make me think a long winter of wrapping up in knits and faux fur arriving so soon might not actually be too bad!

The jewel collared print dress in the first photograph, and the cream faux fur stole it's been teamed with, have both been immediately added to my wish list. I also really like the burnt orange fair isle jumper in the bottom picture, which will be perfect for wearing on our New Year's trip to Scotland.

To make matters worse, and despite the gloriously sunny weather outside, I also got a taste and a smell of Christmas. Perfectly roasted turkeys, smoked salmon, rich chocolates and even a stodgy fruit cake. Who can have a BBQ after sampling all of that?! No. I'm ready for a Christmas dinner!

London Fashion Week and Food

Hi guys,
I love lots of things in this world, but mostly two: fashion and food. However, I always think of the two as mutually exclusive things. When I eat I generally spill something down my top (not good for the fashion) and when I'm trying to wear something lovely I try to think thin (not good for the food).

However, like all good bandwagons, several food-type emporiums (you don't hear that word enough any more!) are promoting London Fashion Week offers.

- FRAE are serving their organic fat-free yoghurt at Somerset House during London Fashion Weekend, in special fashion tubs. What's more, one special fashion lover will receive a year’s supply of its frozen yogurt too. All you have to do is buy your snack and keep your FRAE fashion yogurt tub, sign it with your email address, and return it to either FRAE Notting Hill or FRAE Camden Passage for your chance to win!

-Sketch are collaborating with mywardrobe.com to offer a LFW express lunch. From 16th September - 5th October you pay £60 for a 3 course, Michelin star champagne lunch: it's sounds expensive just for lunch, but at the end of your meal you receive a £50 voucher to spend at mywardrobe.com. Result!!

-Skinny cocktails at the Sanderson hotel (I'm counting these as food because they have fruit in them!) The menu comprises of 6 lightly crafted cocktails - all made of the freshest ingredients to maximise flavour and minimising your waist line. I've never been one to count booze as calories, but guilt-free cocktails can never be a bad thing. I'll be trying these next week, so I'll be sure to report back!

-And this is my personal favourite (I'm a gal with a sweet tooth!) is Millie's Cookies 'Cookie Couture'.Millie’s Cookies invited designers to down their needles and threads and take on the challenge to create a Cookie Couture collection, with 10% of profits being donated to each of the designer’s chosen charity.Clements Ribeiro, Elizabeth Lau, Lu Flux and Yang Du have all designed giant sharing cookies which retail at £12.99 each

Who knew that thinking about fashion week would make me feel so hungry?!

Love,
Tor xx

Want to eat and drink fashion? Visit The Trafalgar

Photobucket
During London Fashion Week The Style PA and I visited The Trafalgar hotel and bar to view a pop up showroom called the Nolcha Fashion Lounge. The fashion was interesting (and gave me a couple of new designers to research!) but possibly more exciting, the drinks were delicious!

September at The Trafalgar is fashion month, and they have a new cocktail menu with three new cocktails inspired by fashion, and this seasons new trends:
- Nude Lace is white chocolate liqueur with tequila and a hint of coffee.
- Pretty Poetess is rum with green cardamom syrup and Angostura bitters
- The girl in the camel coat is Grand Marnier with tequila and a chocolate dusting.

I tried Nude Lace and The girl in the camel coat, and they were both creamy and delicious! What I didn't try (but it sounds yummy!) was the sharing sweet, called the Autumn Winter Assiette. This is a trio of chocolate, hazelnut, and coconut desserts inspired by the minimalist pieces on the catwalks at Aquascutum and Celine.

The cocktails are £10 each, and the sweet is £7.50: Definitely one to check out if you feel like an indulgent and decadent fashion treat!

Love, Tor xx
