Vivienne Westwood designs Comic Relief tees!

Hi guys,
This morning I was up super-early to head to the TKMaxx store at Charing Cross. Why was I up so early, I hear you cry? Well to see the new Comic Relief Tshirts, which have been designed by Vivienne Westwood, of course! There's not a lot that will get me out of bed before 8am, but Vivienne Westwood and doing my bit for charity saw me in Central London earlier than I have ever been before. Luckily I was greeted with juice and fruit which had me perked up and ready to admire the tees in no time:

I might be biased because am a massive Blackadder fan (Like the big geeks we are, Mike and I have the box set and know half the episodes off by heart) but I think the designs are awesome. They look cool, eyecatching, wearable: with jeans and sandals one of these could because my lazy Sunday afternoon go-to.

As well as the Vivienne Westwoods tees, TKMaxx are also selling Comic Relief bags and scarfs by Liberty. Look really closely and you'll see the noses in the print! I really loved these because, more so than the tees, you'll be able to use them long after red nose day:

So why not use your shopping powers for good, not evil? At least £5 from the sale of each £9.99 Tshirt goes to Comic Relief: that's a massive proportion in comparison to other charity ranges. And if you don't really give a damn about charity? Well, they're really lovely looking Tshirts, and less than a tenner for something designed by Vivienne Westwood is a steal!

Morning guys,
Well, you won't need two guesses to work out what today's post is all about...
...The front of liberty has been transformed into a wonderful liberty print delight, dressed in finest ditzy floral pattern, and now it's our turn to get involved:
I am hoping to make it down to enjoy the spectacle and take snaps of the best dressed liberty-ites (can I make that a word?) that London has to offer. I'd love to meet you, and if you see me then please come over and say hello!

Although I am aware of the flash mob craze (you'd have to be living in a cave not to be, sadly!) this is the first time i've felt like getting involved. Dancing to the beat of the music in my head in front of a crowd of people might not be my thing, but getting dressed up and looking pretty certainly is!

I should've posted this yesterday but sadly I had a hangover to nurse which demanded all of my attention: sorry for the short notice!

Liberty, Liberty: Liberated

You know the next best thing to a sale? Why, it's an online sale of course! Liberty is my favourite London department store. It is a eclectic mix of fashions and it has such an amazing atmosphere; whenever I have an hour to kill in central London it is the first place I think to go (after my beloved Topshop of course!) So imagine my delight on browsing their website this evening and finding their online sale? It's like all the fun of shopping in Liberty but without the commute and with the added bonus of being curled up on my sofa wearing my Pjs (pink ones with unicorns on if you're interested!!)

When released from my prison of poverty, I intend to shop... so that this time next month I find myself locked inside another prison of poverty! Ah well, three out of four wonderful weeks a month ain't bad! And if left alone in Liberty for an hour or two, I suspect I will be coming out with a massive credit card bill and one of these:

It's always dresses with me isn't it? I didn't even take the time to look at the seperates! I love the shape of the VW dress which would be really flattering on my figure, I can't get enough of the pattern on the Peter Pilotto dress despite it's awkward length. It's like waves crashing against a wall of asian spices. But the dress that sends my pulse racing (and which I will be running down to Liberty to try on tomorrow) is the beautiful dove grey Acne dress. The beautiful layering, the ruffle details and the cutout shoulder; perfect (sigh of delight!)

PS- Vivienne Westwood fans might be interested to note that it seemed there was a lot of the grand dames garments scattered throughout the sale. Probably worth a look!

Liberty design competition

Ok, so I am about to skim the following copy staight from Liberty's blog (hence the speech brackets!) because I thought it was too good an opportunity for you talented lot to miss out on and because they put it just as well (OK a bit better) as I would:

"Are you a budding new British designer? How would you like to have your products sold at Liberty?

In a bid to recognise and support new and emerging British design talent, Liberty is hosting an Open Design Day on Saturday 25th April.

A panel of experts comprising the Liberty buying team, now headed up by ex-Bergdorf Goodman Senior VP Ed Burstell alongside industry experts such as Yasmin Sewell (Liberty’s Creative Consultant), David Nicholls (Design Editor of the Daily Telegraph) and Sarah Mower (international fashion authority), will be on hand to cast their expert eyes over everything the public bring in.

From fashion to furniture, hats to handbags, craft to cushions and from ceramics to silverware Liberty is encouraging anyone with a creative passion to bring in their designs for the panel to assess.

But don’t expect a Dragon’s Den – rather it is a chance for new designers to get sympathetic and helpful advice from experts on how to nurture and develop their ideas.

The best designs will get the chance to have their products sold at Liberty, a name synonymous with the very best of new design since its doors first opened in 1875, and now one of London’s best-loved emporiums of style and design.

Arthur Lasenby Liberty trawled the world and created an emporium where the finest could meet the rarest. In keeping with this heritage Ed Burstell is keen to champion the best new British design and craft. He and his team will offer support and direction for each step of the process that designers need to get their items selling on Liberty’s world renowned shelves.

Kate Moss for Topshop SS09: A quick update!

Hey guys,

This is just a very quick update on the Kate Moss collection which is launching today, and which everyone is raving about (I really should go and see why before I pass any judgement!)

If the thought of standing in line for an hour and being jostled by the crowd, just to buy a new dress, makes you feel a bit sick then I think I have the solution!

As I mentioned yesterday, the new Kate Moss collection features a selection of vintage Liberty print fabrics from the year Kate was born. In celebration of this, a selection of the pieces are available in the Liberty London store. It's a lovely department store anyway, but even better if you can get your hands on the pieces you wanted without the hassle!

No jostling, no anxious teenagers. Now isn't that a better way to get your hands on the apparent "must have" collection of the season?
