Rosie Huntington-Whiteley's new Lingerie collection for M&S

Sometimes I get invited to things that I'm just gutted I can't make it along to. I still attend as many events as possible, but early mornings and late nights just aren't easy for me anymore: Such is reality when you waddle when you walk! This week the event I was most sad to miss was the breakfast to launch Rosie for Autograph: Rosie Huntington-Whiteley's new lingerie collection for M&S.

The colour palette for the collection was inspired by the rich colours of different types of roses. From the muted tones of dusky pink and green through to dramatic scarlet blooms, Rosie wanted the palette to evoke the beauty of a gorgeous British garden in Summer. (Must not say Roses for Rosie. Must not say....oh hell...)

Here's how it looks: 


The whole range has an opulent 1920s feel. Rosie says, “To find inspiration for the collection, I trawled my favourite vintage shops and flea markets in London, LA and Paris where I found a treasure trove of gorgeous clothes and ornate pieces of jewellery, as well as pictures and patterns found in old design books and fashion magazines....I was particularly drawn to the opulent elegance of the 20s era which really shows in my designs from the sumptuous silks I chose to the intricate deco inspired embroidery detailing on the garments.”

When I think of decadent and luxurious lingerie, with no real purpose other than looking and making you feel completely gorgeous, this is the kind of collection I think of. Which makes the price points and the fact the collection is accessible to just about everyone all the more surprising: Prices start at £12.50 for knickers, through to £22.50 for bras and £65 for the silk kimono. Bra sizes range from 30-40, with cup-sizes from A to E with selected styles available up to G. Knickers range from size 8 to 20.

I, for one, can't wait to get my hands on it. Good news, as the collection is instore now!

August 2012 in pictures....

Hi guys,
Normally I do my monthly round ups with iphone pictures, but since I got my new Nikon DSLR at the end of last month, I've barely taken a single iphone picture: I'm just too obsessed with using this camera! So instead, here's what I've been up to this month in big shots:

Shopping. Stocking up on knitwear from Primark (Love this 'Love' jumper!) and breaking my 'no costume jewellery' rule in Topshop.....


Remembering that I live in a really beautiful city (Don't you find having people visit you makes you view where you live in a whole new light?)....


Growing an unnaturally large baby.....

Visiting the beach with my nephew, who rode his first ride, and couldn't get enough of them!....

Having delicious BBQ in spite of the rain ....

Combined with eating my weight in ice cream....And burgers....(So a lot of eating then!)....

This month has mostly been spent visiting with both of our families, preparing for the baby (we had that 'Oh my god, he's coming soon' moment) and visiting the beach more often than we expected: whenever people come to visit us, the first place they want to go is the beach, which is luckily only a 20 minute drive away. I've also had a couple of fun, if exhausting trips to London. It's been a fairly quiet month, but a good one! What have you been up to? Has it been a good August?

More from Primark's A/W Campaign: The party edition!

You guys couldn't get enough of Primark's A/W casual campaign images, and if you loved those, you're going to love what Primark have coming up for the party season!

I never spend a great deal of money on my party dresses: if I'm going to buy something designer or high end I want it to be something I can get a lot of wear out of. And as party frocks are something I tend to only wear once or twice, Primark is the perfect place to buy them from.

They have gone overboard with the sequins and the glitter (my favourite things, when it comes to getting ready for a night out) and it still amazes me that you can buy a whole outfit, including jewellery and shoes, for less than £50. And you'd look phenomenal!  God bless Primark, and their truly reasonable prices. Here are some of my picks from what they've got coming up:

When your life style changes, so does your style!

Hi guys,
Over the past couple of months, my life has gone through some pretty monumental changes. Firstly I no longer work full time in the city: I freelance from home instead. Which is keeping me busy! But means I've gone from wanting to look fashionable every single day, to having days where there seems to be little point taking off my pajamas. After all, blogging and writing from your sofa in your PJs is living the dream, right?

Secondly is the more obvious physical change: I'm now over 6 months pregnant and look like I'm smuggling a space hopper under my jumper. Which makes wanting to throw on a pretty dress and heels to flit around town seem like a distant memory.

But I still LOVE fashion. It's my passion. Hell, it's my job! I'm just having to navigate a new style that suits my current lifestyle. But when you've worked for years to develop a sense of personal style that you love, that's not as easy as it sounds. I don't have any tips to share on this yet, but here's a round up of the personal progress I've made so far:

-My extensive jacket collection isn't going anywhere. Oh how I love a well fitted blazer! Always have, always will. On days when I'm lounging around the house wearing just jeans and a tee, I know that I can throw on one of my beloved blazers and effortlessly leave the house looking a little more put together. Blazers also have the added bonus of making you look leaner: perfect for those often-occurring fat days!

- Ponytails and buns are now part of my life. When I commuted to work I would set my alarm early so that I could straighten my hair, every single day. Now? Well I still don't like to wear my hair loose unless it's been straightened (It just looks frizzy) and still straighten it a couple of times a week. But on those days in between I'm learning to appreciate the look of a sleek ponytail or messy topknot. It's not lazy, it's just a new style!

- I'm finally embracing jeans. This blog isn't called Fabfrocks for nothing: I love a good dress! But dresses just aren't that practical for everyday wear when you're spending those days in the house. So jeans have entered my life: and because of that I have a new-found appreciation for stylish tops, blouses, and embellished sweaters. Just because I'm wearing jeans doesn't mean I'll ever team them with hooded tops!

- Thank God for pumps and slipper shoes. Now is the time to embrace flat shoes it seems: they've never been more on trend, and there are loads of options available! So whilst I'm temporarily pushing my heels to one side I'm still making sure that my comfortable alternative footwear is as stylish and fashion forward as possible.

P is for Pandora

Hi guys,
Now as you all know, I am a massive fan of chunky costume jewellery. The chunkier the better! But one of my new year's resolutions was also that I wouldn't be buying any more cheap high street jewellery (no more green fingers, no green wrists) and so far, apart from the few small slip ups, I've managed to stick to it.

Instead I've been buying less pieces of jewellery, but making sure they are better quality. Jewellery that's built to last! That means that most of the time chunky jewellery is out of the question: who can afford good quality jewellery that is as bulky and heavy as some of my favourite costume pieces? It's just bad maths! So instead, when it comes to necklaces and bracelets, I have taken to buying more slimline, but still gorgeous and interesting pieces and wearing them stacked high and layered.
