Last minute Mother's Day gift ideas...

Hi guys,
It's Mother's Day on Sunday. Yup, this Sunday! I figured I should lead with that in case some of you had forgotten - because every good mum deserves to wake up to a card and a cup of tea she hasn't made herself on Mother's Day!

When I was asked what I wanted for Mother's Day this year (this will be my second Mother's Day as a mummy) I replied that what I really wanted was a piece of toast all to myself, without having to share it with Wilbur (he loves to eat everything I eat, and invariably dribbles all over my food!) and a peaceful bath without him shouting 'Peepo' and trying to jump in! Obviously that's not going to happen, so I will be content just to spend the day enjoying some family time (and a bunch of daffodils will be nice!)

If you want to get something for your mum but haven't been shopping yet then here are a few last minute Mother's Day gift ideas that you could order now and still get before the weekend:

Essie Mother's Day Nail Duo, £12.99, Boots
Liberty caption notebook, £22.95, Liberty
Mummy Deer bone china mug, £8.99, Arundell Farm Shop
Wooden crate planter, £39.99, Not on the High Street
Collage photo board, £22, Next

I actually wish I'd seen that crate earlier, because my mum would love it but I've already got her present! Have you got your mum a Mother's Day present or card? I posted my card this morning (I'll be delivering the present in person next week, as it's too heavy to post) so I hope it arrives in time!

Valentine's Day gift ideas without the cheese...

Hi guys,
I'm not a big fan of Valentine's day - restaurants suddenly become disproportionately expensive, as do bunches of roses and bottles of champagnes. But I do like the idea of there being at least one day a year when you make the time to tell that someone special how important they are - whether you choose February 14th to do that is up to you! What I'm most opposed to about Valentine's day though is the cheese! Chaps in silk boxers with roses between there teeth? Proposing in restaurants whilst everyone applauds? It's definitely not me! So here is a quick Valentine's day gift guide with no cheese, heart print boxer shorts or red satin lingerie included!
 photo valentinesday_zpsce8f2ed1.png

1.Osprey heart print scarf, TK Maxx, £14.99
2. Molton Brown Gingerlily Hand cream, £10
3. 'Bee Mine' wildflower seeds, Not on the Highstreet, £3.49
4. Pencil set, Not on the Highstreet, £3.50

5. Personalised Alphabet handbag mirror, £5.95
6.. Ice cream earrings, Topshop, £8.50
7. All you need is love chocolates, Thorntons, £7

I don't think that saying 'I love you' should cost a fortune, and I for one certainly won't be shelling out (Wilbur and I are making red velvet cupcakes as our love token for his daddy) so none of the presents listed above will cost you more than £15: achievable no matter what your budget!

What will you be doing for Valentine's day? Do you have romantic plans, or will you be eating pizza on your sofa like me (hey, not having to cook is treat enough for me!)

Accessories: You know you're a mum when....

Hi guys,
You know you're a mum when your iPhone cover image stops being something sleek and stylish, and becomes a big old close up of your baby's squishy face instead! photo phonecase1_zps10efdf3c.jpg photo phonecase2_zpsb41997e5.jpg My iPhone case was sent for me to review by www.wrappz.com who sell all manner of phone covers, cases, and skins. They have a great range of really quite fashionable and stylish pre-designed cases too, but I just couldn't resist the idea of having Wilbur smiling at me from the back of my phone.

I'm really pleased with this, and am going to order one for Mike too. It will make a great filler for his Christmas stocking - yes, I am thinking about Christmas stockings already!

What do you have to protect your mobile phone? Something personalised, something stylish, or do you simply leave it cover-free?
